Capital Goods

Formal

Goods used in the production of commodities - also called 'producer goods'. This would include Oil Rigs, Lathes, Buildings, and Welding Equipment.

Informal

Big, chunky, dirty, smelly, industrial, productive, real, solid and valuable - these are Capital goods, which typically dig up raw materials, pump oil, refine chemicals, etc, etc. Old economy production goods.
