Net Asset Value

The sum total of every asset owned by a company that is listed on the Balance Sheet. It's not necessarily how much the company is worth though - many different valuation techniques exist for that.

An accountant's dream... a sum total (net) value of all the assets owned by a company less all its obligations. Banks like this number because it gives comfort that their loans are secured against something real and tangible.
